Biography
Willard Haley
Willard Haley is a Republican serving in the Missouri House of Representatives representing District 58, which encompasses Morgan and Moniteau counties and a portion of Cooper County. He was sworn in on January 6, 2021, after winning his seat unanimously when no other candidates ran in the election.
Haley was born and raised in Cooper County, Missouri, on his family's dairy farm in Pilot Grove. He is a member of the Eldon United Methodist Church and has been deeply involved in his community through various leadership roles, including serving as President of the Eldon Chamber of Commerce, President of the Miller County Fair Board, and co-chairman of the Cole & Miller County Long Term Recovery Committee.
Education
Haley graduated from Pilot Grove High School as Valedictorian in 1979. He attended the University of Missouri–Columbia, where he earned:
- BS in Agriculture Education
- BS in Agriculture Mechanization
- MS in Practical Arts and Vocational/Technical Education
Political Experience
Before his election to the state legislature, Haley had an extensive career in education and agricultural leadership. He was employed by the Eldon R-1 School District for 32 years, serving as an Agriculture Education Instructor and FFA Advisor for 25 years and as Director of the Eldon Career Center for 7 years. Additionally, he worked as an adjunct Agriculture Instructor for State Fair Community College for two years.
Haley's policy interests include the Second Amendment, education, workforce development, small business, and agriculture. He is also a strong supporter of the military, with several family members serving in the armed forces. He holds memberships in organizations including the NRA, Morgan County Farm Bureau, Eldon FFA Alumni, and the Lake Area FCA Board.
