Will Guzzardi is a Democratic state representative for Illinois' 39th District, which includes Chicago neighborhoods such as Avondale, Belmont Cragin, Bucktown, Hermosa, Logan Square, Old Irving Park, and Portage Park. First elected in 2014 by defeating a long-time incumbent from a prominent Chicago political family, he has served since 2015 and is currently in his sixth term as Assistant Majority Leader and Co-Budgeteer for the Democratic Caucus. Notable achievements include passing legislation to raise Illinois' minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2025, advancing prescription drug affordability, workplace anti-discrimination measures, criminal justice reforms, immigrant protections, LGBT rights, clean energy policies, and efforts to make college tuition-free at public universities. He is a founding co-chair of the Illinois House Progressive Caucus and previously served as Emeritus Co-Chair of the Illinois Future Caucus. Chairs the Economic Opportunity and Equity Committee .
