Biography

Representative Will Greer

Will Greer is a Democratic representative serving the Bennington-2 State House District in Vermont. He was born on January 15, 2003, in Nacogdoches, Texas, and spent most of his childhood in McAllen, Texas, along the U.S.-Mexico border, coming from a family of ranchers and farmers. He moved to Vermont to pursue higher education and has since become deeply involved in local politics and community service.

Education

Greer attended Bennington College, where he initially studied writing but ultimately earned a bachelor's degree in public administration. His academic focus on public administration informed his transition into political work and community leadership.

Political Experience

Greer's political career began with his service on the Community Policing Advisory Review Board, where he served as Vice Chair and worked to improve police department policies in Bennington. In 2022, he ran for High Bailiff of Bennington County to champion sheriff reform, though he narrowly lost the race by a few percentage points.

Later in 2022, Greer was elected as a Justice of the Peace in Bennington. In January 2023, he was elected Secretary of the Vermont Democratic Party, assisting with state and executive committee operations and ensuring party compliance with Democratic National Committee and state regulations.

In 2024, Greer ran for Vermont State Representative in the Bennington-2 district and won a competitive Democratic primary by just four votes. He was subsequently elected to the Vermont House of Representatives, becoming one of the youngest legislators in the state. He has also worked on drug prevention policy in Montpelier, the state capital, and continues his involvement in Democratic organizing efforts.
