Biography
Will Barfoot is a Republican state senator representing District 25 in the Alabama State Senate, which includes Crenshaw, Elmore, and Montgomery counties. A lifelong Alabama resident from Pike Road, he was first elected in 2018 after defeating Ronda Walker in the Republican primary and David Sadler in the general election . Notable achievements include serving as a delegate for Mike Huckabee at the 2008 Republican National Convention, acting as legal counsel for Huckabee during the 2008 Alabama Republican Presidential Primary, and being appointed Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee due to his legal expertise. He previously ran unsuccessfully for the seat in 2006 and served as temporary Probate Judge for Montgomery County in 2005. Barfoot remains active in the Republican Party as a member of the Montgomery County Republican Executive Committee. In 1988, he represented Alabama on a student exchange trip to the former Soviet Union.

- Education: Earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Auburn University at Montgomery in 1995; Juris Doctorate from Jones School of Law in Montgomery in 2001. While in law school, he clerked for Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, P.C., and later worked there as an associate attorney.
- Professional: Founded Barfoot & Schoettker, LLC in 2004 with partner Ben Schoettker, representing individuals and businesses in various practice areas; briefly a solo practitioner after Beasley Allen.
- Political Experience and Committees: Serves as Chair of the Judiciary Committee and Sunset Committee; additional roles on Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry; Banking and Insurance; Veterans, Military Affairs, and Public Safety; Transportation and Energy; Confirmations; Fiscal Responsibility and Economic Development; Children, Youth and Human Services; Contract Review; and Permanent Legislative Committee on Reapportionment. Previously vice chair of Judiciary.
