Biography
Wes Kitchens is a Republican state senator representing District 9 in the Alabama Senate, which covers Blount, Madison, and Marshall Counties. Born on March 4, 1989, he was elected to the Senate in a special election in January 2024 after serving two terms in the Alabama House of Representatives for District 27 starting in 2018. A businessman from Arab, Alabama, where he lives with his wife Ashton and attends Gilliam Springs Baptist Church, Kitchens previously served as president of the Arab Chamber of Commerce, focusing on workforce and community development, and as an insurance agent at Holloway and Hunt Insurance. Notable roles include vice-chair of the House Republican Caucus, co-chair of the Alabama Pre-K Commission, and chairman of the Marshall County Republican Party. He also worked in college basketball as video coordinator for Auburn University Women’s Basketball and director of basketball operations at the University of Denver.
