Biography
Wendell K. Jones is a Democratic State Representative for District 25 in Greenville County, South Carolina. He serves as a leader focused on spiritual grounding, entrepreneurship, and community development, representing constituents in the South Carolina House of Representatives.
As founder and senior pastor of Changing Your Mind Ministries, he leads various initiatives including the Wendell Jones Leadership Institute, which trains minority business owners for chambers of commerce in Greenville, Columbia, and Charleston. He also established the CYM Leadership Academy for youth enrichment, the Upstate Bible Institute for Christian education, and owns South Atlantic BioCleaning & Janitorial Services. Previously, he owned Nationwide Insurance offices and served as Vice President at Wachovia Bank .
Notable achievements include graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill’s Executive Leadership Program, certification as an Entrepreneurial Trainer by the Kauffman Foundation, and former board roles with the Urban League of the Upstate, American Heart Association, and Phillis Wheatley Association. He was a Class of 2009 Liberty Fellow and received South Carolina’s Order of the Silver Crescent in 2021, the state’s highest service award.
