Biography
Wendell Felder is a Democratic Councilmember representing Ward 7 in the District of Columbia. A fourth-generation Washingtonian, he was born and raised in Southeast Washington, D.C., and is a graduate of DC Public Schools. Felder has focused his professional career on improving the quality of life for D.C. residents through public service and community engagement work.
In addition to his government roles, he has held positions in healthcare and higher education, including serving as Director of Community Affairs at Sibley Memorial Hospital and Johns Hopkins Medicine, where he evaluated community engagement approaches to support community needs and address healthcare inequities. He also worked in higher education at Howard University.
Felder served as a four-term Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in Ward 7 and previously chaired the Ward 7 Democrats Organization. He currently lives in the Parkside neighborhood in Ward 7.
