Biography

Vikki Ann Goodwin, born May 18, 1967, is a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives representing District 47 in western Travis County, including portions of southwest Austin, Bee Cave, Lakeway, and the Lake Travis area. A small business owner and real estate broker, she owns a residential real estate business with her husband and has served her fourth term since first winning election in 2018 by defeating Republican incumbent Paul Workman with 52% of the vote. Her legislative focus includes public education, child welfare, healthcare, housing affordability, water infrastructure, and food security. Notable achievements include passing Cati’s Act for drowning prevention in child care centers, the Natalia Cox Act to aid domestic violence victims, expanding AcuDetox for mental health recovery, and creating the Texas Food Security and Resiliency Council. In May 2025, she announced her candidacy for Lieutenant Governor in the 2026 election. She serves on the House Appropriations Committee and the House Insurance Committee.
