Vanessa Caston LaFleur is a Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives representing District 101 . Elected in a 2022 special election and re-elected unopposed in 2023, she serves on key committees including Vice Chair of Administration of Criminal Justice, Appropriations, and Judiciary, with notable expertise in tax policy, ethics, and state governance.

Vanessa Caston LaFleur is a lifelong Baton Rouge resident, attorney, and adjunct professor at Southern University Law Center. Married to Brian LaFleur I, she is the mother of Sydney Alexandra LaFleur and Brian LaFleur II. She assumed office on April 11, 2022, succeeding Edward James, and is eligible to serve through 2032. A member of the Democratic Caucus, Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, and Louisiana Legislative Women's Caucus, her priorities include financial oversight, agency efficiency, fairness in policy, and ethical governance. She also serves on the Louisiana State Police Retirement Board.
