Biography
Valerie Jones Giltner is a Republican representing District 37 in the Delaware House of Representatives. A retired critical care nurse and healthcare consultant from Georgetown, she won a special election on December 21, 2023, to succeed Rep. Ruth Briggs King and was re-elected on November 5, 2024. Her priorities include protecting citizens from burdensome regulations, ensuring secure classrooms, improving healthcare, strengthening working families, and promoting government accountability. She serves as Ranking Member of the House Health & Human Development Committee and is a member of several others, including Corrections, Education, Housing, Judiciary, Revenue & Finance, Sunset, Technology & Telecommunications, and Transportation. She is married to John and has been active in community service, including roles as past President of the Delmarva Christian High School Parent-Teacher-Fellowship Board, fundraiser for Delaware Elite Basketball, and volunteer with Food Bank of Delaware, Habitat for Humanity, and Felton/Harrington Little League.
