Biography
Val L. Peterson is a Republican representing District 56 in the Utah House of Representatives. He has served since 2011, initially in District 59 until 2023, and currently holds the position of Executive Appropriations Chair. Notable achievements include serving as Former Majority Assistant Whip, Former Chair of the Business and Labor Committee, and Land Component Commander in the Utah National Guard since 2012. He currently serves as Vice President for Finance and Administration at Utah Valley University and holds board positions on the Provo Airport Board, Timpanogos Regional Hospital, State of Utah Transparency Board, and University of Utah Events Center Board.
