Biography
Tyler James Clancy is a Republican who represented Utah House District 60, encompassing northern parts of Provo, Pleasant Grove, Brigham Young University, and central/east Provo. Elected at age 25 in January 2023 by Utah County Republican Party delegates to succeed Adam Robertson, he was among the youngest state legislators in the U.S. and the youngest elected to the Utah Legislature since 1834. A Provo police officer since May 2022, Clancy focused on homelessness, public safety, education, and fiscal responsibility. Notable achievements include passing all his 2023 bills, creating the bipartisan Blue Collar Caucus, earning the 2023 “Friend of the Taxpayer” award, and chairing the House Ethics Committee in 2025. He resigned from the House in March 2026 after appointment as Utah's state homeless coordinator.
