Biography
Troy Hebert
Troy Michael Hebert is a Republican politician from Louisiana currently serving as the State Representative for House District 31, representing parishes in Lafayette and Vermilion. Born on April 19, 1966, in Jeanerette, Louisiana, Hebert has had a lengthy career in public service and the private sector.
Prior to his current role in the House, Hebert served as the Commissioner of the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control , a position to which he was appointed by Republican Governor Bobby Jindal. He served in this role until December 2015. Before that, he also served in the Louisiana State Senate.
In his current capacity as a state representative, Hebert serves on several legislative committees, including Insurance, Judiciary, and Ways and Means. He is a member of the Acadiana Delegation and the Louisiana Republican Legislative Delegation. Hebert was elected to represent House District 31 in 2023 and is eligible to serve through the 2032 term.
Education
Hebert earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental and Sustainable Resources from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a *Master of Business Administration * also from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Political Experience
In addition to his legislative positions, Hebert's professional background includes work as a Real Estate Managing Broker. His voting record reflects conservative positions, including support for constitutional carry legislation that allows law-abiding citizens to carry concealed handguns without a permit.
