Tristan Leavitt

Tristan Leavitt is an American attorney and politician serving as a Republican member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 53 in Kanawha County. He currently serves as the president of Empower Oversight, a position he has held since March 2023.

Education and Background

Leavitt is an attorney by profession, bringing legal expertise to his legislative work. His background in law has informed his career in both the private sector and public service.

Political Experience

Leavitt has an extensive background in federal service prior to his election to the state legislature. He formerly held several roles at the Merit Systems Protection Board, including member, acting chair, and general counsel.

In April 2023, Leavitt announced his candidacy for the West Virginia House of Delegates in the 53rd legislative district. He won his election bid in 2024 and now serves in the state legislature. In his current role, he is a member of the House Committee on Energy and Public Works.
