Biography
Trish La Chica is a Filipino-born American politician and Democrat serving as the Hawaii State Representative for District 37 on Oʻahu, representing Mililani Town, Mililani Mauka, Koa Ridge, and Waipio Gentry. Appointed in 2023 by Governor Josh Green to replace Ryan Yamane, she was elected in 2024 for her second term and has focused on public health, housing, homelessness, education, and community safety. Notable achievements include restoring school bus routes, regulating e-cigarettes to protect youth, securing funding for schools and infrastructure, and advocating for public transportation and homelessness initiatives. She serves as Vice Chair of the House Committee on Education and was selected for the Future Caucus Innovation Fellowship . A proud voice for the Filipino-American community, she lives in Mililani with her husband Cricket, two children , and three dogs.
