Biography
Representative Trey Caldwell
Hurchel "Trey" E. Caldwell III is a Republican representing Oklahoma House District 63 in Southwest Oklahoma. Born on December 24, 1988, he is a fifth-generation Comanche County native who grew up east of Lawton in a multi-generational farm and ranch family. Caldwell currently works as an Insurance Agent and Financial Adviser for Oklahoma Farm Bureau and Farm Bureau Financial, while also operating a farming, ranching, and custom hay business in Comanche County.
He resides in rural Comanche County with his wife, Kristi, their daughter, Hesston, and their mini-Aussie, Izzie.
Education
Caldwell graduated from MacArthur High School and played football at Southern Nazarene University for three years before earning a business degree from Cameron University.
Political Experience
Caldwell is currently serving his fourth term as State Representative and holds significant leadership positions:
- Chair of the House Appropriations & Budget Committee, overseeing the state's $12.7 billion budget
- Chair of the Joint Committee on Appropriations and Budget
- Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Pandemic Relief Funding

Previously, he served as Deputy Majority Leader and Chair of the Utilities Committee, where he brokered key energy and broadband agreements that strengthened Oklahoma's electric grid and expanded rural access.
Caldwell has championed rural economic development, public education funding, healthcare expansion, and broadband growth throughout his tenure. He has been recognized as Legislator of the Year by multiple organizations, including The Petroleum Alliance, Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association, and the Oklahoma Hospital Association.
