Biography
Trent Kelly is a Republican U.S. Representative for Mississippi's 1st congressional district, serving since winning a special election in 2015. Born on March 1, 1966, in Union, Mississippi, to John and Barbara Kelly, he resides in Saltillo with his wife Sheila and their three children. A retired major general from the Mississippi Army National Guard after 39 years of service, including deployment for Desert Storm, he has earned awards such as two Bronze Stars, the Soldier's Medal, and the Combat Action Badge. Notable positions include Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee's Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee.
