Notable achievements include serving as Minority Caucus Fiscal Policy Chair since 2023, Democratic Leader Pro Tempore since 2025, and being selected to lead the Senate Democratic Caucus for the 2026–2028 term. She holds leadership roles such as Vice Chair of the Appropriations Committee on Health and Human Services and has received awards like Community Activist of the Year from ALCAM and Champion for the Elderly from the Florida Health Care Association.
