Tommy Wright is a Republican delegate representing Virginia House District 50, which includes counties of Charlotte, Halifax , Lunenburg, Mecklenburg, and Prince Edward . Born April 27, 1948, in Richmond, Virginia, he has served as a member of the Virginia House of Delegates since January 3, 2001. A retired grocer from Victoria, VA, he is married to Frances Rose Abernathy and has two children: Thomas C. III and Briggs. Notable positions include vice chairman of the Roanoke River Basin Bi-State Commission, member of the Brown v. Board of Education Scholarship Awards Committee, Virginia Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War Commission, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Commission. He also serves on the House Committee on Communications, Technology and Innovation.
