Biography
Tom Stinnett is a Republican member of the Tennessee House of Representatives, representing District 20 . Born on July 30, 1955, he assumed office in 2025 after serving nine years as a Blount County Commissioner, where he focused on improving infrastructure, creating jobs, enhancing public safety, and advancing public education. A lifelong resident of Blount County, Stinnett has dedicated his career to community service, including roles as a Meals on Wheels driver, member of the Emergency Medical Service Board and Blount County Community Action Agency, volunteer with the Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department and Blount County Football Association, and past Deacon at Central Baptist Church in Alcoa. He is married to Patricia , with two children and two grandchildren . Notable achievements include his long-term commitment to conservative values, education, and public service.

- Education: BS from East Tennessee State University ; Master's in Safety from University of Tennessee ; Ed. Specialist from Lincoln Memorial .
- Professional Experience: Retired CTE teacher in the Maryville City School System, where he also served as a STEM teacher, driver's instructor, and coach for football, track, and golf teams.
