Tom Takubo is a Republican member of the West Virginia Senate representing District 17 since his election in 2014. Born December 14, 1971, in Columbus, Ohio, he is a physician specializing in pulmonary critical care, married to Tori Takubo, with three children: Maggie, Trevor, and Molly. He serves as Senate Majority Leader , chairs key committees including Health and Human Resources, and has led initiatives like West Virginia's largest tax cut, major private investments, public school funding, and school choice. Notable 2024 achievements include sponsoring laws prohibiting smoking in vehicles with children under 16 and establishing a statewide lung cancer prevention program.
