Biography

Tom Leek is a Republican state senator representing District 7 in Florida, which includes all of Flagler, Putnam, and St. Johns counties, as well as northern parts of Volusia County. Born on August 6, 1968, in Columbus, Ohio, he moved to Florida in 1982 and resides in Ormond Beach with his wife Michelle and their two daughters, Alexandria and Sarah. He is Presbyterian and serves as Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President at Foundation Risk Partners, Corp., an insurance brokerage firm.

Education and Political Experience

  • Education: Earned a B.A. from the University of Central Florida in 1992 and a J.D. cum laude from Stetson University College of Law in 1997.
  • Political Experience: Elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2016 for District 25, re-elected after redistricting to District 28 in 2022, serving until 2024. Elected to the Florida Senate for District 7 on November 5, 2024, with terms through 2032.
