Biography
Thomas Gerhold is a Republican member of the Iowa State House of Representatives. He was born on June 21, 1961, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and currently resides in Atkins, Iowa. He is married to Julia. Outside of his legislative duties, Gerhold works as a Research Associate in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, a position he has held since 1997. He is an elder and member of Saint Stephens Lutheran Church and is a participant in The Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa .
Education
Gerhold attended Kirkwood Community College and The University of Iowa.
Political Experience
Gerhold currently serves as the Representative for District 84 in the Iowa State House of Representatives, a role he has held since 2023. He previously represented District 75 from 2019 to 2022. He was a candidate for the District 84 seat in 2022 and 2024.
