Biography
Tom Determann is a Republican state representative for Iowa House District 69, elected in 2022 and currently serving his first term. Born in 1950 in Clinton, Iowa, he was raised in Clinton and Camanche, where he resides with his wife, Judy; they have two daughters and three grandchildren. A U.S. Army veteran, retired businessman , and lifelong Clinton County native, Determann has held key local roles including former city councilman and mayor pro tem, past chair of the Clinton County Board of Supervisors, and leadership positions in organizations like the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce, Clinton Regional Development Corporation, and Iowa-Illinois Highway Partnership. Notable achievements include efforts to balance budgets, reduce taxes, attract business, and expand U.S. Highway 30 to four lanes for better logistics. He serves on committees including Transportation , Local Government, Commerce, Economic Growth and Technology, and the RIIF Budget Subcommittee, prioritizing education, law enforcement support, shrinking government, and reducing regulations.
