Biography

Tom Briese is a nonpartisan American politician born on April 12, 1959, in Albion, Nebraska. A fourth-generation soybean farmer, he represented Nebraska's 41st Legislative District in the Nebraska Legislature from 2017 to 2023. He served as Nebraska State Treasurer from November 2023 to November 2025, appointed by Governor Jim Pillen to succeed John Murante. Notable achievements include championing conservative causes such as lowering property taxes, controlling government spending, opposing ESG-based investments, and introducing a constitutional amendment for voter recalls of officials after anti-abortion bill opposition. He resigned from the Treasurer position on November 3, 2025.
