Biography
Senator Todd Gollihare
Todd Gollihare is a Republican State Senator representing District 12 in the Oklahoma State Senate, which comprises Creek and Tulsa Counties. He was sworn in during his first term in November 2022.
Born and raised in Stratford, Oklahoma, Gollihare grew up in a small-town environment before pursuing higher education. He has resided in Kellyville for over twenty years and is deeply rooted in the local community. Gollihare is a man of faith and maintains strong ties to Oklahoma values and governance.
He was married for 33 years to Melanie Nichols of Stonewall, Oklahoma, who passed away in January 2020. In March 2023, he married Jamie Harmon of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has three daughters who graduated from Kellyville Public Schools and Oklahoma State University, as well as a stepdaughter who attends the University of Oklahoma.
Education
Gollihare graduated from Stratford Public Schools and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from East Central University. He further pursued legal education by attending The University of Tulsa College of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate while serving in the military.
Political Experience
Before his election to the State Senate, Gollihare held significant positions in public service:
United States Marine Corps Officer: Served for 24 years as a Lieutenant Colonel, beginning in May 1986 and retiring in November 2011. He defended the Constitution throughout his military career.
Chief United States Probation Officer: Served as the Chief U.S. Probation Officer for the Northern District of Oklahoma until his retirement in April 2021.
Kellyville Board of Education: Served from 2004 to 2016, contributing to local educational governance.
As a State Senator, Gollihare has focused on conservative priorities including tax cuts, law and order, religious liberty, property rights protection, and immigration reform. He was instrumental in passing what his office describes as the toughest immigration law in Oklahoma history and continues to advocate for strong law enforcement and safe communities.
