Biography
Tisha Mauro is a Democratic member of the Colorado House of Representatives, representing District 46, which spans the majority of Pueblo County, including areas like Avondale, Beulah, Colorado City, and Rye. She assumed office on January 9, 2023, succeeding Daneya Esgar after winning the 2022 election against Republican Jonathan Ambler, and was re-elected in 2024. A Pueblo resident and chile farmer by profession, Mauro focuses on local education, water rights for farming, supporting law enforcement, and conserving Colorado’s water, land, and air. She identifies as pro-choice and advocates for workers, small business owners, farmers, and ranchers.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Pueblo County High School; attended University of Southern Colorado .
- Political Experience: Active in Democratic Party politics throughout her life. Serves as Vice-Chair of the Agriculture, Water and Natural Resources Committee and member of the House Business Affairs & Labor Committee and House Committee on Wildfire Matters Review. Has sponsored legislation to expand EV charging stations, improve railroad safety, enhance wildfire prevention and response, and incentivize economic development in Southern Colorado. Currently sponsors 12 House bills in the 2026 Regular Session.
