Biography
Timothy E. Ginter is an American politician, minister, and current Columbiana County commissioner. A Republican, he previously represented Ohio House District 5 from 2015 to 2023, serving as Speaker Pro Tempore from 2021 to 2023. He has held various professional roles, including ordained minister, factory laborer, construction worker, and owner of a consulting business. Notable achievements include securing tax relief for disabled veterans and supporting Ohio law to honor police officers via the “Thin Blue Line” American flag. In 2019, he co-sponsored legislation aiming to ban abortion in Ohio, with controversial provisions exempting certain medical cases only if efforts were made to preserve the unborn child, including a medically unfeasible reimplantation procedure for ectopic pregnancies.
