Biography
Tim Walz is the 41st Governor of Minnesota, representing the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party . He previously served Minnesota's 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2019. Notable achievements include passing legislation for abortion rights protections, free school lunches, paid family leave, marijuana legalization, gun control measures like universal background checks, and lowering insulin costs to $35/month; he was also Kamala Harris's vice presidential running mate in 2024 and authored the bipartisan STOCK Act to curb congressional insider trading.
Born April 6, 1964, in West Point, Nebraska, Walz grew up in a rural community, enlisted in the Army National Guard after high school , taught high school geography and coached football in Mankato, Minnesota , and was selected as Democratic Governors Association chair in 2023.
