Tim Moffitt is a Republican representing District 48 in the North Carolina State Senate, serving since 2023. A lifelong resident of Western North Carolina with family roots spanning over 250 years in the region, he was raised in Henderson County, home to Asheville, and has three children. Moffitt is a self-made businessman, owning Moffitt Properties, founding and leading Moffitt International , and managing a mountaintop vacation venue; he has over three decades of experience assembling executive teams for governments, Fortune 500 companies, and organizations worldwide. Notable achievements include ranking as the most conservative and most pro-business House member by Civitas and the North Carolina Free Enterprise Foundation, being named the #1 Most Effective Legislator by the Raleigh News & Observer, sponsoring 118 bills in 2013-2014 focused on tax reform, regulatory reform, private property rights, and government oversight, and leading reforms like annexation laws and alcohol beverage control modernization.
