Biography
Timothy P. Lang Sr.
Timothy P. Lang Sr. is a Republican State Senator representing District 2 in New Hampshire. Born in Bergenfield, New Jersey, he resides in Sanbornton, New Hampshire with his family. Lang is a retired law enforcement officer and IT professional who has built a career in both public service and technology sectors.
Beyond his legislative work, Lang serves as Town Moderator of Sanbornton and is a certified yoga instructor and ordained minister in the Universal Life Church. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and has been actively involved in his community through various civic roles. Currently, he works as a Senior Information Technology Manager for Live Nation Entertainment.
Education
Lang attended Humboldt State University for general studies and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Western Governors University .
Political Experience
Lang was first elected to the New Hampshire House of Representatives in 2016, representing District Belknap 4, where he served until 2022. During his tenure in the House, he gained recognition as a conservative leader and pragmatic consensus builder, serving on the Election Law Committee and Ways and Means Committee.
In 2022, he was elected to the New Hampshire State Senate for District 2, where he currently serves as Republican Majority Whip. As a senator, he serves on the Senate Committee on Executive Departments and Administration. His legislative priorities include promoting smaller, smarter government, protecting constitutional rights, and keeping taxes low. Notably, he voted for Medicaid expansion during his time in the House.
