Timothy P. Kerner is a Republican state representative for Louisiana House District 84, which covers parts of Jefferson Parish, including Jean Lafitte. Born in Jean Lafitte, Louisiana, he is married to Darla and has three children. Previously, he served as Mayor of Jean Lafitte, where he was elected at age 29 with 96% of the vote—the highest margin in Jefferson Parish history—leaving office with no debt, a $900,000 surplus, and $38 million in assets without raising property taxes. He also served on the Jefferson Parish Council for District 1 and worked as a prosecuting attorney under Jefferson Parish District Attorney Paul Connick. Kerner was elected to the House in 2019 and is eligible to serve through 2028.
