Biography
Timothy H. Johnson is a Republican member of the Kansas House of Representatives representing District 38. Elected in November 2020, he assumed office on January 11, 2021, succeeding Willie Dove. With a 31-year career in law enforcement, including roles as undersheriff in Wyandotte County, chief of police in Lindsborg, and special investigator for the state in child abuse cases, he later taught at Basehor-Linwood High School and Wyandotte High School. Notable achievements include Kansas High School Teacher of the Year in 2014, KCK Educator of the Year in 2008 by the Kansas City, Kansas Rotary Club, and Outstanding Official in 1988 for an anti-drug program. He serves on committees such as Education Budget, Child Welfare System Oversight, and holds vice-chair positions; his priorities include education-related bills like expanding scholarships and school participation rights.
