Biography

Tim Hicks is a Republican representing Tennessee's 6th House District, which covers parts of Washington County including Gray and Johnson City. Born on August 29, 1963, he is an American businessman who owns Hicks Construction and has served in the Tennessee House of Representatives since assuming office on January 12, 2021. He was elected in November 2020 after defeating incumbent James Van Huss in the Republican primary. Notable positions include Republican Caucus Vice Chair and previously Deputy Republican Whip . In March 2026, he sponsored a bill allowing property owners and developers to sue local governments over zoning enforcement but withdrew it on March 23.
