Biography

Terri O'Rorke

Teresa "Terri" O'Rorke is a Democratic representative serving in the New Hampshire House of Representatives for Cheshire District 7, representing Keene Ward 2. She was born in September 1954 in Rhode Island and currently resides in Keene, New Hampshire.

O'Rorke is a retired hairdresser and has two daughters and six grandchildren. Before her career in public service, she worked as an emergency medical technician in Richmond and Winchester, New Hampshire.

Political Experience

O'Rorke assumed office in the New Hampshire House of Representatives on December 4, 2024, following her election in 2024, which was recommended by the NEA New Hampshire.

Her prior public service experience includes:

  • Former deputy town clerk in Richmond, New Hampshire
  • Trustee of Trust Funds in Richmond, serving two terms
  • Board member of the Richmond Town Newsletter
  • Volunteer with America Reads and Project Home

Community Leadership and Notable Achievements

O'Rorke has demonstrated significant involvement in regional planning and community development. She served as co-founder and instructor of the NH Selectperson Institute in partnership with the NH Municipal Association. She also led the initial Bike-Pathways System Master Planning project for the City of Keene and served on the Board of the Upper Valley–Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission.

Additionally, O'Rorke facilitated a Lake Sunapee climate change initiative through a NOAA grant and served as a consultant on the CTAP effort for New Hampshire's Department of Transportation, which brought together 26 local municipalities to develop a smart growth plan along the I-93 corridor.
