Teresa Saavedra Woorman is a Democratic member of the Maryland House of Delegates representing District 16 in Montgomery County. A lifelong Democrat, immigrant, and advocate, she was sworn in on August 12, 2024, following an appointment to fill a vacancy. She serves on the Health and Government Operations Committee, including its Public Health & Minority Health Disparities and Health Occupations & Long-Term Care subcommittees. In January 2026, she was named a deputy majority whip. Woorman is also a member of the Maryland Women’s Caucus, Maryland Legislative LGBTQ+ Caucus, and Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus .
