Biography
Ted Eischeid is a Democratic representative for District 22 in the Alaska House of Representatives, serving Northeast Anchorage/North Muldoon. Born in Dubuque, Iowa, at age 63, he was raised in rural America and moved to Anchorage, Alaska, in 2016. A retired teacher and municipal planner, he previously worked in wildlife management. He is married to Hedy Eischeid and enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, hunting, fishing, running, biking, paddling, skiing, and gardening, along with time with his wife and dogs. Notable positions include co-leadership on the House Transportation and Military & Veterans Affairs committees, plus service on Education and Judiciary committees. He sponsored HB 88 for tuition waivers for families of armed services members.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Dubuque Senior High School; B.S. in Fisheries & Wildlife Biology from Iowa State University; M.S. in GeoScience from Mississippi State University.
- Political Experience: Elected County Board Supervisor in Iowa, serving two terms ; elected to Alaska House District 22 .
