Biography
Tavis Rock Hasenfus is a Democratic State Representative for House District 57 in Maine, representing the communities of Readfield and Winthrop in Kennebec County. Born in Augusta and raised in Winthrop, he is a general practice attorney in Winthrop, married to Nicole with three children, and resides in Readfield. He assumed office on December 2, 2020, and has served in the 130th, 131st, and 132nd Legislatures. Notable affiliations include board member of Friends of Cobbossee Watershed and Winthrop Area Chamber of Commerce; he has volunteered on the Winthrop Recreation Committee and coached youth sports. He serves as Chair of the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee and member of the Ethics Committee.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Graduated from Winthrop High School ; Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from University of Maine at Orono; Juris Doctor from University of Maine School of Law.
- Political Experience: Interned at Kennebec County District Attorney's Office; attorney at Levey, Wagley, Putman & Eccher; elected to Maine House in November 2020, reelected in 2024 against Republican Donna Piccininni.
