Biography
Tammy West is a Republican representative for Oklahoma House District 84, which includes areas like Bethany, Oklahoma City, Warr Acres, and Woodlawn Park. She has served since 2016, succeeding Sally Kern, and was re-elected multiple times, including by default in 2020 and defeating Jeremy Lamb in 2022. A longtime resident of the district since 1980, she is married to Jon , with three grown children and three grandchildren who graduated from Putnam City West High School. The family is active in the Tanglewood West Neighborhood Watch Association and Council Road Baptist Church, where Jon serves as a deacon. West owns Wellness Plus and works as an independent distributor for The Juice Plus Company. Notable achievements include leadership roles such as Majority Leader , Majority Whip , Caucus Vice Chair, and Caucus Chair; awards like the 2018 Rising Star Award from the State Chamber of Oklahoma, 2019 AARP Legislative Leadership Award and Legislator of the Year from Oklahoma Association of Realtors, 2021 Bulldog Award from District Attorney’s Council for criminal justice improvements, and 2017 Distinguished Service Award from State Regents for Higher Education; completion of the Southern Leadership Conference’s leadership program in 2017; and service on the RISE Board of Directors and as a Prison Fellowship member. She has championed victim-centered restorative justice, local school control, and serves on committees like Appropriations and Budget, Public Safety, Civil Judiciary, Education Oversight, and Rules.
