Tammy Nuccio

Tammy Nuccio is an American politician representing Connecticut's 53rd General Assembly District. A member of the Republican Party, she was first elected to the Connecticut House of Representatives in November 2020, defeating Democratic incumbent Pat Wilson Pheanious. Her district encompasses the towns of Tolland and Willington, as well as part of Vernon.

Nuccio resides in Tolland and has deep community roots. She has been involved with numerous local organizations, including the Tolland Senior Center, Tolland Soccer, Saint Matthew's Church, and served as a former board member of the Eastern Highland Health District. She also previously served on the Tolland Town Council.

Education

Nuccio earned a B.B.A. in business management and an M.B.A. from Bay Path University. She brings more than 30 years of professional experience in finance to her legislative work.

Current Positions and Committees:
Nuccio serves as Ranking Member of the Appropriations Committee, which oversees all matters relating to state appropriations, agency budgets, state employee compensation, teachers' pensions, and veterans' benefits. She also serves on the Insurance and Real Estate Committee, the Executive and Legislative Nominations Committee, and the Select Committee on Special Education.

Notable Achievements:
In January 2021, Nuccio proposed an amendment to the Connecticut state constitution to prevent revenue collected from transportation-related taxes from being diverted to other programs. She was an early co-sponsor and helped lead Republican colleagues in passing House Bill 6588, which established the Mental Health Service Provider Task Force to identify and eliminate obstacles preventing mental health service providers from participating in provider networks. Following this legislative success, she was appointed to serve on the task force by House Minority Leader Vincent Candelora.
