Biography
Suzanne Miles is a Republican representative for District 7 in the Kentucky House of Representatives, serving Daviess, Henderson, and Union Counties since 2014. She currently holds the position of Majority Caucus Chair and resides in Owensboro, where she is a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church. Born and raised in Daviess County, Miles comes from a family entrepreneurial background; her father and grandfather started Miles Farm Supply in the late 1950s by selling seed from their back porch. She began working young, counting quarters from a Pepsi machine at age four and later at the family business during high school. Notable achievements include owning and operating Town & Countrywear Ladies Clothing and Accessories starting two days after college graduation until 2008, and since 2009, serving as a field representative for Congressman Brett Guthrie, assisting constituents with federal issues.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: Attended Transylvania University; during her senior year, she purchased and owned a clothing store in Owensboro.
- Political Experience: Elected to the Kentucky House in 2014 and re-elected since, serving as Majority Caucus Chair. Prior to election, worked as field representative for U.S. Congressman Brett Guthrie , whom she considers a mentor. Active on various House standing committees, interim joint committees, and caucuses.
