About

Susie Lee is a Democratic U.S. Representative for Nevada's 3rd Congressional District, assuming office on January 3, 2019, after winning the open seat in 2018. Born on November 7, 1966, in Canton, Ohio, to a working-class family of ten children—her father a military veteran and steel plant worker—she moved to Las Vegas in 1993 and became a prominent nonprofit leader focused on education, dropout prevention, homelessness, and youth programs. She is married with two children, ranked as the most bipartisan member of Congress among representatives, senators, and governors, and serves on the House Appropriations Committee while co-chairing the Bipartisan Women’s Caucus and participating in the Problem Solvers Caucus and New Democrats Coalition. Notable achievements include helping negotiate the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act—lowering drug costs and investing in climate and jobs—securing over $5.6 billion for Nevada, and passing bipartisan bills on housing, water supply, health care, child protection, and veterans' care; she has won reelection in this swing district four times, including as Battleground Leadership Representative.
