Representative Susan DuBose

Susan DuBose is a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives representing District 45. Her district encompasses parts of North Shelby County, Jefferson County, and a portion of St. Clair County, including the communities of Chelsea, Highland Lakes, Mt. Laurel, Greystone, Sterrett, Leeds, and Irondale.

DuBose has been actively engaged in her community through various leadership roles and volunteer positions. She has served as the 2021 President of the Republican Women of North Shelby County and continues as a member of the Executive Committee of the Shelby County Republican Party. Her community involvement includes serving as a board member and former chairperson of the Distinguished Young Women of Shelby County, a member and former board member of the King's Home Shelby Auxiliary, and the Chairperson of the Caring for America Committee with the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was recognized as a "Champion Woman" by the Independent Women's Forum in 2024 for her advocacy for women in sports and her work maintaining Title IX law. In 2024, she was also named a Club for Growth Fellow, engaging with national leaders on topics related to limited government, economic freedom, and free enterprise.

DuBose is married to Dennis DuBose and has two children—a son and a daughter.

Education

DuBose earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of South Alabama. She subsequently obtained her *Master of Business Administration * from Springhill College.

Political Experience and Professional Background

Before her election to the state legislature, DuBose worked in the banking sector for twelve years as a Commercial and Residential Real Estate officer. She later transitioned to community leadership, volunteer work, and serving as a stay-at-home mother.

Additionally, she served as Ball Chairman and President for the American Heart Association, during which she raised over $700,000 for local research initiatives.
