Representative Strom Peterson , 21st District, Washington
Strom Howard Peterson is a Democratic member of the Washington State House of Representatives, representing the 21st Legislative District , which includes neighborhoods in Edmonds, Everett, Lynnwood, and Mukilteo.
Born in 1967 or 1968 in Albuquerque, New Mexico , Strom Peterson has served in the Washington House since January 2015. He previously owned the Cheesemonger’s Table, a cheese shop and café in Edmonds, and founded three small businesses there after moving in 2001 with his wife, Maria Montalvo, and their dog Lulu. A strong advocate for living wages, infrastructure, environmental protection, public safety, and housing, he sponsored legislation banning assault weapons that passed the House in March 2023. He briefly served on the Snohomish County Council in 2022 and remains active in the Edmonds community, including the Center for the Arts, Rotary, Chamber Board, and veterans' programs.
