Biography

Steven Woodrow is a Democratic representative for House District 2 in the Colorado General Assembly, covering parts of Denver including the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Appointed by a vacancy committee in 2020 following Chris Hansen's move to the state Senate, he won easy re-elections in 2022 and 2024 in a heavily Democratic district. A leader in the House Democrats' progressive wing, he focused on affordable housing, rental issues , and land use reforms, including co-sponsoring Gov. Jared Polis' 2023 bill that passed in 2024. He chaired the House Committee on Finance and served on the House Committee on Legislative Council. Woodrow scored highly on environmental issues through Conservation Colorado.
