Biography
Steven B. Winter represents Connecticut House District 94, covering parts of New Haven and Hamden. Elected in November 2024, he assumed office on January 8, 2025, after serving on the New Haven Board of Alders from 2018 to 2022. As an entrepreneur, he founded an employee-owned software company to enhance public access to electricity grid information; he currently serves as New Haven's Executive Director of Climate and Sustainability, focusing on climate initiatives that improve residents' lives. Notable achievements as an alder include strengthening housing codes, safe streets improvements, increased education and youth resources, and climate actions like electrifying city vehicles and buildings; he has also advocated for police accountability, zoning reforms, and better elections. For the 2025 session, he serves on the Energy & Technology, Finance, Revenue & Bonding, and Planning & Development Committees.
Education and Political Experience
