Biography

Steven Sainz is a Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 180, which covers most of Camden County and a portion of south Glynn County. First elected in 2018 at age 23 after defeating incumbent Jason Spencer in the Republican primary, he ran unopposed in the general election and was re-elected in 2020, 2022, and 2024. Of Cuban and Costa Rican descent, he is one of three Hispanic Republicans in the Georgia General Assembly. As a coastal conservative and small government advocate, Sainz prioritizes safe communities, family prosperity, student success, local economy growth, support for law enforcement, and protecting Constitutional rights. He serves as Chairman of the Interstate Cooperation Committee and Co-Chair of the Georgia chapter of the Future Caucus. Previously a deputy sheriff and Executive Director of Camden Connection, he has secured over $18 million in community infrastructure funding. Notable community roles include chairing Woodbine's planning commission, serving on the Camden County Chamber of Commerce board, and participating in the Woodbine Lions Club and Saint Marys Salvation Army advisory board.
