Biography
Steve Swiontek is a Republican representative for District 10 in the North Dakota House of Representatives, serving alongside Hamida Dakane in Fargo. Born on May 21, 1954, in Edgeley, North Dakota, he is a retired president and CEO of Gate City Bank, where he currently serves as board chair, with over 45 years of banking experience championing North Dakota families and small businesses. He is married to Mary Anne Swiontek, with two children and three grandchildren. Notable positions include interim vice chair of the Water Topics Overview Committee in 2023, standing vice chair of the education and environmental division, member of the House Appropriations Committee, and House Higher Education Funding Committee. He received the FMWF Chamber Legacy Leader Award in 2019.

- Education: Bachelor of Science in economics and military science from North Dakota State University , 1977; elected student body president at NDSU.
- Political Experience: First elected to the North Dakota House in 1976 ; returned since 2023 as Republican representative for District 10. Previously served on Fargo Board of Education and Cass County Electric Board .
