Biography
Steve Stern is a Democratic New York State Assemblymember representing Assembly District 10 in Suffolk County. He was first elected in a special election in April 2018 and has been re-elected to serve his fourth term, currently serving as Chairman of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee. Notable achievements include passing six bills in his first six weeks on groundwater protection, veteran services, and children's health; securing funding for local schools, law enforcement against opioids and gang violence, and $22 million for Huntington Station sewer infrastructure; sponsoring veteran benefits, employment opportunities, and protections for veteran homebuyers; and co-sponsoring New York’s “Red Flag Law” to reduce gun violence.
Education and Political Experience
