Steve Simon is Minnesota's 22nd Secretary of State, a Democrat , serving statewide since 2015 in his third term as the state's chief elections official. Born December 12, 1969, in Minneapolis, he grew up in St. Louis Park and Hopkins, previously represented those communities in the Minnesota House , and oversees elections, business services, and the Safe at Home program. Notable achievements include authoring no-excuse absentee voting and online voter registration laws, leading Minnesota to top national voter turnout, chairing the House Elections Committee , and serving as National Association of Secretaries of State president .

Education

Simon earned a B.A. in Political Science from Tufts University and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
